AGARTALA, Sep 20 (TIWN): After much campaigning for elections, finally students are peacefully voting for their choiceable candidates in 22 Degree Colleges.

To ensure SFI’s winning in College Election, SFI held many rallies aying, “Vote for SFI to bring back peace in Colleges”. BBMC, MBB College students jointly held rally at College Tilla, and in various other spots the Student union is organizing rallies.

On the other hand condemning against the Higher Education setup in Tripura which is nothing but CPI-M backed Trinamool Youth Forum raised voice many times. The attack held by SFI on innocent students at Belonia Degree College was also stressed during the press conference. Alleging about various intrigues in Colleges TMC quit election.

“SFI & Melarmath are jointly operating the colleges”, said Vicky Prasad. Thus TMC Student Union has 3 objections :  1. The fee card issue, 2. Voter-list issue, 3. No security during election in the college campus.

Immediately after the press meet in a major clash between SFI and TMC youth forum, left 2 TMCP students injured at MBB College on Tuesday, during nomination paper submission for the College Election.

“From today no political rally will be tolerated here”, said SP West getting frustrated with administration. He also said, “Election must be in Democratic Manner. Nobody can violate any rules there”.

But TMC student union further took the issue to DGP K Nagraj alleging that SP Abhijit Saptarshi using his force wounded the students who were just protesting there.

Following those clashes, Tripura’s two Student  Unions’ called strikes paralyzed 3 College Classes in Agartala.  Whereas TMCP had called strike at MBB College, counter attacking TMCP, SFI called strike in 3 Colleges:  BBMC, MBB, Women’s College.

“SFI to continue JNU row in Tripura”, SFI leader Nabarun Deb told to TIWN ahead of lection. Already in 13 Colleges, 670  seats are SFI occupied, rest 121 seats to be achieved by SFI via College Election, says Deb.

Expressing resentment over the SFI, TSU domination over Tripura Govt Colleges,  another student union, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parisad (ABVP) members in a press meet held at Agartala Press Club said that the way the Colleges are running through Melarmath direction, is dangerous for our Country’s future.

ABVP also condemned over various rallies organized by SFI where school students are taken out in class hours.

In the College Election, to be held on Sep 20 ABVP asked for votes to fight against the Communists.

Addressing a press meet, ABVP State Secretary Nandita Nath said ABVP do not believe in any ideology but it aims to propagate Indian Culture. Marxism, Leninism all these ideologies should not grip the Education system so much.

ABVP Vice President Rupam Dutta said, “ABVP will make ragging free Colleges, as across Colleges ragging are being held under SFI domination’.

ABVP members further urged for votes from College Students which to be held on Sep 20.

However, now it’s to be seen who wins the College Election.
