KAMALPUR, Sep 16 (TIWN): 49th Engineer’s Day observed with due homage and sincerity at Kamalpur yesterday. The day was observed through different programs arranged in two days.

On 14^th September, the engineers planted saplings of different species of trees in and around the office of the Executive Engineer, DWS. Then they conducted cleaning campaign at College chowmuhani area. On that very day, sweets were distributed among the inhabitants of sub-divisional jail.

On the day of the birthday of M. Visweswaraiya i.e. on 15^th September, the day was observed through seat and draw competition, blood donation, donation to the CM’s relief fund and cultural evening.

The seat and draw competition turned the largest one in the district in which thousands of children took part. The program was observed at Town Hall premise. Then the engineers voluntarily donated blood and donated to the CM’s relief fund. In the evening, a cultural program was arranged.

The social works and humanitarian attitude of the engineers was highly praised by the commoners.
