AGARTALA, Sep 11 (TIWN): Central Govt. again asked the non-tax payers to disclose property before October 1st, if they do not want any legal action against them. However, with the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for NE region C L Denzongpa’s visit to inaugurate the new Income Tax on Sep 16,(Agartala & Udaipur), tension has increased among the corrupted officials including few IAS officers in Tripura who are yet to disclose their properties. Tripura has less number of high-profile tax payers and as per the income tax officials record only 47,000 tax payers are there amidst its 37 lakhs of population. The non-tax-payers includes many corrupted officials names including DGP K Nagraj, Ministers as Naresh Jamatia, Bijita Nath and many others. Tripura’s massive Undisclosed Properties under CPI-M regime since 1988 has forced the Modi Govt. to take action in 2016 after NE Tax Office called Tripura’s 2 Minister, 1 MLA after finding massive misappropriations in their tax service. After Minister Bijita Nath, Minister Naresh Jamatia were called to Guwahati by the Tax Dept. for mismatching of properties and income-tax payment, DGP K Nagraj’s name was also brought under the scanner.

However, as per the Modi Govt.’s order, everyone needs to pay within September 30th.

But Tripura Govt.’s silence has bound the Central Govt. to send its Tax Commissioners  again and again to aware the public of Tripura to pay immediate Taxes within September 30.

In a press meet on Last month Rakhesh Kumar Goyal, Commissioner of Income Tax, West Bengal said that this is the 3rd time, we are holding meeting here in Tripura to warn the public to pay income taxes.

“As since 1988 there are records of many unauthorized properties and so many undisclosed properties in Tripura, so the Prime Minister has given a last chance to its citizen including other states too to pay the income tax and disclose property within September 30”.

“Pay the tax before the time, otherwise when the time will be end it will act like a Time-Bomb. As BJP led Central Govt. do not want to harass the public, so the Govt. has launched the scheme”, Goyal added.

Tripura govt.’s negligence in everyway has left the Central Govt. under huge Revenue losses, either it’s a matter of Freight train business or Income tax. Thus Central Govt. is interfering in state issues and monitoring the cashes circulation under CPI-M regime.
