Facebook finds a lost daughter

AGARTALA, May 19 (TIWN):Thanks to facebook! Getting confirmation from a Bangladeshi NGO, farmer Amal Namo of Abhoynagar village under Hrishyamukh of South Tripura gets hope to back her daughter.
At the initiative of a local journalist of Belonia, Rakesh Debnath in facebook networking, a leading NGO of Bangladesh last week ascertained Namo family that their beloved daughter Sumitra is now landed in Chittagong Central jail.

15 –years old Sumitra has been in the jail of Bangladesh for past six months.

According to report, Sumitra’s name has been changed to Fatema Begam after being converting into Muslim.

She got married with 22 –years old Nizamuddin of South Angshapur village under Chhagalnaiya police station in Feni district of Bangladesh in February last year.

She left home and crossed Indo-Bangladesh border in reference to her brief interaction with Nizamuddin when she was only 14 –years old.

A few months after their wedding, Bangladesh police arrested her from Nizam’s house on the charge of entering into Bangladesh without valid passport.

Later, in a court order Sumitra landed in jail.

Sumitra’s village is right at Indo-Bangladesh border and her family has small plot of farmland ahead of wire fencing.

She was a regular accompany of her father Amal Namo in the agriculture field since her tender age, said Amal.

Meantime, Sumitra met Nizam outside fencing and in interaction they fell in love.

In February last year, she went missing from the house in an early morning.

Matter was report to police in Belonia. Police however, has taken up the matter with Border Guard of Bangladesh and held flag meeting.

Accordingly, Chhagalnaiya police station arrested her from Nizam’s house on November 16 last year.

Through Indian High Commission Nizam informed Belonia police station in last January that he married Sumitra after converted into Islam in April 2013 where she changed her name as Fatema Begam recording her age 19 –years.  

While pleading him innocent Nizam said, “She is now in the jail for illegal entry into Bangladesh and she is mentally weak due to disassociation with the husband and parents.”

Based on police input, Rakesh Debnath has started searching detail about the case through Bangladeshi journalists in social network and in last week he got success.

A team of Bangladeshi NGO met her in Chittagong jail and informed the matter in detail to the family. Now Sumitra’s family initiated fresh move to get her back in Tripura.
