AGARTALA, May 18 (TIWN): Close on the heels of High Court’s recent verdict canceling appointment of 10,323 teachers, more teachers are contemplating to approach the High Court challenging the ‘faulty transfer order’ of 57 Science Teachers.

Following SOS from the tribal council, the School Education department has transferred 57 Science Teachers and posted them in various ADC-run schools in tribal areas.

However, the process was stalled by the CEO office since the model code of conduct was enforced in the state. Now, all the transferred teachers will have to move for new posting as the department issued stand-release.

Most of the teachers are unhappy over the faulty and unrealistic transfer order. As for example, one teacher, who had already been spent substantial period in rural areas has been posted to a school which is 7 km from Dasda in Kanchanpur subdivision.

“I don’t know why the department has transferred me to a school which is 7 km away from Dasda, a remote area of Kanchapur subdivision. While my mother is bed ridden, wife underwent major operation and lone son is scheduled to appear in the Madhyamik examination. If the departments sticks to its order, I will seek HC intervention to stop the transfer order”, said one of the transferred teachers. A substantial number of transferred teachers are all set to knock the door of the HC seeking stay order.

Sources claimed, the transfer list was prepared by the HGB leaders to give mileage to some ‘comrade’ teachers angering honest and dedicated teacher.

Here it may be noted the tribal council has sought approval of the state government to appoint 100 Science Teachers. However, the state government struck down the proposal and suggested the ADC authority to provide 57 Science Teachers to run ADC-run schools. The ADC authority is not happy with the state government’s move.
