AGARTALA, Sep 5 (TIWN): On Monday early morning West Bengal TMC leader Mukul Roy via a press meet told Tripura media that after a long discussion held between TMC MLAs & him it has been decided that Dibachandra Rankhol would be the opposition leader. TMC Chairman Ratan Chakraborty will place the proposal before the Assembly Speaker Ramendra Chandra Bebnath on Monday.

Greeting Tripura people on the double celebration of Teacher’s Day which is held in hounour of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan & Ganesh Chaturthi---Mukul Roy began the press conference at newly made TMC Bhawan at Jackson Gate, Agartala.

At first he stressed on 23rd August’s tragic incident resulted out of communal clashes between Tripura Tribal & Bengalis. However Roy accused CPI-M as fully responsible for the 23rd mayhem and said, “We condemn the incident which was created only by CPI-M cadres on that day. Communists unnecessarily always try to create such violence so that disruption in communal harmony may continue”. He further sought CBI inquiry into the issue, as they have no confidence in Tripura govt.’s administration.

However, in this regard TMC is going to organize a massive rally just after 1 month of this incident. Addressing the press meet, Mukul Roy mentioned, “From various parts of Tripura people will gather on that day, when Abhishek Banerjee will deliver speech at Agartala”. (Abhishek Banerjee is a member of parliament to the 16th Lok Sabha from Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency, West Bengal).

He added that TMC will also felicitate Dipa Karmakar on Sep 8 at her home.

After so many dramas atlast Assembly Speaker of Tripura has given TMC the recognition of an opposition party, Roy said. He also mentioned about Dibachandra Rankhol to be the opposition leader from now and the proposal will be given to the speaker today itself. However, he also claimed, “As expected, CPI-M will create much problems here too”.

“Hills are Tripura’s asset, but political parties are trying to damage the unity of Tripura. But not only Tripura in Bengal also without hills, without the unity between all religions an administration can not proceed”, Roy added.

Replying to media questions Mukul Roy said, “After 10 years the Signur movement got ultimate winning, which shows a massive winning of Trinamool Congress too and proves Mamata Banerjee as a dynamic personality. In Tripura also many people from CPI-M and other parties are contacting with Trinamool to join the party”.

TMC is determined to thrust CPI-M in 2018 election, he said. About BJP, Mukul Roy said, “BJP is out of discussion, our fight is with CPI-M”

However, about state committee formation, he said that state committee is expected to be formed before this Durga Puja.
