AGARTALA Sep 4 (TIWN): Around 12 elephants together destroyed grounds of 100 kanies of crops and 40 kanies of rubber gardens at kalyanpur block area.
However, the bustle of kalyanpur block areas elephants are not new.
But this time huge losses were caused in Adhunia village, which was already suffering due to massive poverty across the area.
Farmers' main source of income is agriculture. Education for their children and every expenses for their families are only depend upon farming.
There are total 300 kanies lands at Premsingh and Ghilatali Adhunia village. Among those 300 Kani lands, 100 kani fields are cultivated land, which were dajorly damaged by 12 elephants.
At the same time time due to the downfall of 40 kanies rubber fields sky has broken over the families.
Farmer cultivate crops with hard work to earn their livelihood but that incident caused huge losses to them.
Due to the negligence of the forest dept. such incidents are frequently occurring at that area.
Although many times public of kalyapur area requested them to take steps again wild animals activity, which often take away lives, but all are in vain.
As a result resentment has been brewed among the locals there.
