AGARTALA, May 16 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar while congratulating the electorates of Tripura, urged upcoming Narendra Modi led BJP government at the centre not to pursue anti-people policies like Congress.Talking to media Sarkar said CPI-M nominees in Tripura has won the election with a record margin, which was not ever found in the result in the history of the state.

“In 2014 election we have been appealing the voters to reject Congress led UPA and we are thankful to the electorates. But BJP is able to encash the anti-congress wave across the country and they appeared as single largest party in the country,” Sarkar said.

He further pointed out, “My appeal to the new government not to follow the path of Congress and rule the country with pro-people policies.”

In West Bengal, there was no fair poll and role of Election Commission is also not satisfactory to ensure fair election and this is the reason of an unexpected debacle of left front in Bengal, Sarkar added.

He however, stated that the party will meet on April 18 to review the situation and future plan of action of CPI-M.
