AGARTALA, Aug 23 (TIWN): Transportation in Tripura is simply cut off due to the mass rally by the unruly IPFT in demand of their Twipra land. The Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT), a tribal based party in Tripura has to stage this rally to further spark off communal tension in the state.

Although the party was scheduled to meet PM Narendra Modi to place their demand, as he was out of India the party members met the other delegates and are hopeful for the fulfilment of the demand.

The People's Front of Twipra (IPTF) has reiterated its demand for a separate tribal land by the name of 'Twipra Land' here on Tuesday at Vivekananda stadium followed by Mass rally at Agartala.  Hundreds of IPTF supporters sat for demonstration in demand for the same, asserting the necessity for the separate land to protect the interests of the tribal’s who are allegedly at the threat of extinction.
