AGARTALA, Aug 23 (TIWN): A 10 sec. intensity earthquake shook NE and its neighbouring area at 7.41 Am.

India Meteorological Department recorded a 5.3 magnitude earthquake today near Myanmar & its neabouring NE states.

The epicenter of 5.3 magnitude earthquake was 40 km from Mawlaik, Sagain, Myanmar

There was no report of damage to life or property so far, officials said.

There are also reports of tremors being felt in some parts of the Northeast region.
