AGARTALA, Aug 22 (TIWN): Young to old every one gathered at Swami Vivekanandna Stadium to welcome Dipa on Monday morning where a felicitation program was organised by Tripura state government to give rousing welcome to Dipa and her coach Biseshwar Nandi.

School children and local people gathered along the roads to accord her a warm welcome. Many of them also greeted her with flowers, sweets. Then the rally entered the swami Vivekananda Stadium. There a welcome ceremony was organized.

CM Manik Sarkar, Sports Minister Shahid Chaudhury, and many other dignatories were also present in the Stadium.

Minister Sahid Chaudhury greeted Dipa and her coach with flower bouqet. Chaudhury said,”Dipa is now not only the girl of Tripura, she is the girl of whole nation. We expect that in coming Games, she will bring golden medal for India.” “Whole Tripura is along with Dipa and wishes her success.”-he further added.

Dipa greeted the people said that blessing of the people had made the success. She also said that she would have been much more happy if she would have grabbed a medal in the Olympics.
