AGARTALA, Aug 22 (TIWN): Tripura Govt. never had shown such interest to Tripura Sports star Dipa Karmakar unless nationwide scrimmage for Dipa had begun during her Olympic participation. Tripura govt. is now ready to do anything to lick the credit of Dipa’s success and that’s why since morning SFI and other Red flagged unions had occupied the Airport Premises. But Dipa’s flight was re-scheduled and she arrived almost 3 hour ago in Agartala Airport. She was supposed to come via Indigo at 8.45, but she came at 7.30 Indigo flight. Although all the passengers taking bags and luggage came out of Airport Departure, but Dipa and her coach were made seated inside the Airport as the Astabol Progamme was after 10.30. TIWN Editor who was seated with Dipa Karmakar & Bisweshar Nandi also left Airport at 8 AM, but there was no chance for the Sports-starts to came out, the programme at Astabol was scheduled late (after 10.30), which will give CPI-M much publicity & sympathy. However finally at 10.30 the rally started and Dipa came out of Airport.

First time Tripura Govt. arranged a grand welcome ceremony for Dipa Karmakar at Agartala Airport with 200 bike rally, although surprisingly Dipa has come back without any medal. Dipa had received many warm welcomes at Agartala Airport by various NGO, Sports-Clubs, school-students earlier. But her earlier arrivals remained unmarked by any grand ceremony Tripura Govt.

Tripura Govt. infact showed not any interest to Dipa’s achievement unless, nation-wide scrimmage for Dipa Karmakar had started as Mamata Banarjee made her icon in her state, MP offered her full training expenditure in that state for next 4 years, Telengana’s Rs. 50 lakhs to her. Before going to Rio Olympic also, when TIWN correspondent ask Tripura Sports Minister Sahid Choudhury about state’s financial help to Dipa, Minister Choudhury said, “Question doesn’t arise for helping her financially as she is just a performer now, let her achieve something first” !

However, although she couldn’t achieve anything (as per Minister’s words) then also CPI-M is excited to lift her from Agartala Airport to Astabol field where on August 9 Mamata Banarjee during here Tripura Political campaigning congratulated Dipa Karmakar for her performance.

Recently in various interviews, Tripura Sports Minister is propagating himself by saying, “A decade ago the Government began scouting for talent. The aim, apart from sporting glory, was to keep the youth from militant outfits. I feel proud that Dipa Karmakar is the product of such an attempt by our Government”.

He also mentioned that Dipa who started to learn Prdunova in 2014, was facing challenges as Tripura had no such advanced infrastructure. The then Union Sports Minister Sarbanada Sonowal also didn’t help much her. However, after many obstacle, they arranges her coaching at Delhi.

Tripura CPI-M who is expert in  making stories had uttered the story of fake Dipa’s sports journey with CPI-M ladder in national medias already. But everyone knows, Tripura govt. never highlighted Dipa and helped her a penny except Manik Sarkar had blessed her by his left hand.
