Police nabbed five gamblers

Ambassa, May 15 (TIWN): After a long chase, police of Ambassa police station finally netted five gamblers including various gambling articles from Vaoualia slum area on Tuesday.

According to the police sources, based on secret information, a contingent of police led by OC of Ambassa police station- Swapan Dasgupta conducted a raid at Vaoualia slum area on Tuesday. During the search, police apprehended five gamblers including many articles which are used for gambling purpose. According to the police sources, police is trying to nab a youth of Shillong, who operates this gambling in the entire Dhalai district, confirmed police. For that, the names of the detained persons kept in secret for further investigation.

Notably, a large percentage of youths of Kulai, Gantacherra, Kekumachra, Hrankhal Para, Dalubari, Shikaribari and Bagmara areas are derailed from the civic society. Addiction to gambling is the main causes of their ruin day by day. Not only the youths, right from school students to different aged men and women of the locality are also addicted to the odd gambling. Sunrise to sunset a section of anti social gamblers sell the token number meant for hardly game which leads to common peoples’ live to ruin of the locality. However, the people of the said areas are happy with the kind initiative of the police to prevent the gambling.
