PWD Minister makes a narrow escape from Agartala Flyover issue, says ‘will look into the matter’, Tainted NBCC pocketing huge amounts, using  low quality product for the construction, People fear repetition of Kolkata flyover tragedy in Tripura

AGARTALA, Aug 19 (TIWN): With the sudden collapse of Flyover pillar between Joynagar and Fire Bridge Chowmuhani people fear for repetition of Kolkata flyover tragedy in Tripura. As everyone knows NBCC has been known for the mismanagement in construction of different project, for which they are also being black listed once again their mismanagement is proved as a under construction flyover pillar collapsed due to the use of poor quality materials. However, PWD minister made a narrow esc ape from the scene by saying that “I will look in the matter”. Talking to TIWN correspondent, PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury further said that he will see into the matter and will take necessary actions. It is to be mentioned here that a newly constructed pillar between Joynagar and Fire brigade chowmuhani collapsed due to the use of poor quality materials in the constructed. Question arises how the vehicles will run on this flyover once the pillars are not strong. The common public on Friday alleged slow progress in the construction work of the fly-over at the entire junction.

Talking to TIWN correspondent on Friday, the public at Battala alleged that the construction work is undergoing in slow progress and there is no development in the site and irregularities were also alleged into the construction. 

However, agitating over the slow progress in the construction work of the first ever flyover the locals also complained that due to the delay in the construction site at Battala people faces traffic congestion in office hours.

Locals further alleged irregularities in an ongoing construction work of a flyover and stated that the company which had been given the contract to build the flyover had flouted construction norms.

The poor engineering, rush and construction materials used in the Road flyover project are being blamed for the Thursday's tragedy

There can be many reasons for the collapse of a under construction flyover. It seems there may be some problems related to stability.

However, agitating over the slow progress in the construction work of the first ever fly over the locals also complained that due to the delay in the construction site at battala the people faces traffic congestion at the office hours and cannot reach to their destination.

The locals further complained that if the construction goes on in a such a slow progress the construction work for the flyover will not be completed within the given time period.
