Kamalpur, May 14 (TIWN): In a bizzare incident of superstition by a minor girl's family and subsequent propaganda of this "holy event" by a local Cable Channel that a minor girl will be married to a snake(as Lord Shiva wanted her), thousands or curious onlookers gathered at Maracherra. Due to heavy influx of people , local administration deployed TSR to control crowd. At least 20 people were injured in lathi charge conducted by police to control crowd on Wednesday afternoon. This minor girl was starved by her guardians which caused her to fall unconscious. Some eye witnesses also complained that girl was looking drugged by her guardians.

Anita Gour, second daughter of Sandhya Gour was going to marry a snake, alias Nagraja at a traditional Hindu wedding to be celebrated by thousands of invitees.

It is worthy to mention here that Anita today was dressed like a bride and the entire house was decorated as if a wedding is going to be celebrated. The entire fairy tale incident concluded with the worship of Lord Shiva after the intervention of SDM and SDPO. As condition of Anita deteriorated for she was fasting, she was admitted to Kamalpur BSM Hospital.

SDPO Uttam Banik, OC Debaprasad Roy, SDM Hemendra Kumar arrived at the site to control the unruly situation of thousands of peoples gathering.

Local people said that Anita and her three siblings including mother are living in a small hut in the village amidst poverty. Anita was studying in ninth standard. Sources said that since past few days, Anita reportedly campaigned that she was possessed by Lord Shiva and she would have to marry a snake according to the wish of Lord Shiva.

After that, local residents regularly visited her in the hope of getting miracle cure of their problems. According to sources, she even started earning a good amount of money within these few days.
