AGARTALA, Aug 17 (TIWN): Years have passed but no major action taken against the acussed involved in the multi crore NHM scam. Talking to TIWN correspondent, PCC Chief Birajit Sinha said that the case is almost closed and only due to the shelter from the ruling government police is also not taking any action, alleged Sinha. However, it is to be mention here that since after the Unakoti NHM scam was unearthed and FIR was lodged against at least 17 CMOs and other officials, one could find no sustained development in to it leading the corrupt officers roams free. According to the FIR, the health officials had embezzled an amount of Rs. 4.47 crore under National Rural Health Mission. However, no one was arrested in this connection, till the filing of the report. Instead the case now remained pending with the Police Head Quarter. Sinha also mentioned that the Left Rule Government is swallowing huge amount of public funds in the name of Development.

Even the High Court has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) K Nagaraj to take a disciplinary action against the Unakoti SP Nabadwip Jamatia and Kailsahar PS OC for not considering the first complaint against the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam worth over Rs. 30 crore made by Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Birajit Sinha.

He further mentioned that for any central government project the ruling government jumps with full dedication and as soon as the money comes the working progress goes down. So far Manik’s rule Government has been using their puppet contractors and embezzling huge amount of public fund.

Sinha was determined to file the case and said that all preparation are going on to expose Manik Govt’s organized corruption.

However, it is to be mentioned here that under Manik’s regime several scams popped up but allegation has been raised that no initiatives has been taken to curb the various scam in the State.

Despite of huge amount of fund allotted by the Central, several primary hospitals and schools are in deplorable condition. When authorities are asked about the poor situation of the State, they never get tiered of criticizing the central saying that they are not allotting sufficient amount of fund.

Now the question arises if the central is not allotting any fund then from where do the corrupt officials embezzle the huge amount of funds?
