Agartala, May 13 (TIWN): To regularize the DRW, casual and contingent staffs of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) who are working till days, posts were created. Instead of regularizing those staffs, new recruitment is going on for those posts at present, alleged the contractual employees of TSECL.

According to official sources, a number of staffs since years have been working contractually in TSECL. To regularize those staffs, TSECL board meeting was held on Sep 27, 2010. Under the approval of State Finance Department No.F.10 (2)-FIN (G)/2008 (PART) 275 dt.09.06.2009 and amendment order U.O.No.384/POWER/210 dt.19.06.2010, posts were created namely Junior Operator- 24 posts, meter tester- 320 posts and helper Grade-II-537 posts. After the posts were created, TSECL took the decision of regularization under order noF.6 (154)-TSECL/2010 (s)/2068-80 dt.12.10.2010.

Allegations were raised that following the direction of a few ruling party leaders, seniority was not maintained in case of DRW staffs and junior staffs were regularized depriving many DRW staffs. After the regularization of a few DRW staffs, regularization procedure was brought to a halt. Days passed but the regularization process of remaining DRW, casual and contingent staffs was brought to a standstill.

It was alleged that staffs are newly recruited at the vacant posts that were earlier created to appoint the contractual staffs as regular sparking resentment among contractual staffs.
