AGARTALA, Aug 8 (TIWN): DGP K. Nagraj on Monday in a press meet at Police head quarter clarified that no other political party other than Trinamool Congress will be allowed to do any rally at Vivekananda stadium on August 9.

Talking to Media, DGP K. Nagraj said that Tripura police has denied the permission to TPF, Tribal based organisation to stage any rally at Vivekanda stadium on August 9 as TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee will address a rally on the same day.

It is to be mentioned here that Tripura People front led by Patal Kanya appealed to Tripura police to arrange security arrangement at swami Vivekananda stadium on August 9 to observe world indigenous day where WB CM Maamata Banerjee is also scheduled to attend rally on the same day.

The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is observed on August 9 each year to promote and protect the rights of the world's indigenous population. This event also recognizes the achievements and contributions that indigenous people make to improve world issues such as environmental protection.

However, after a series of jolt regarding holding rally at the swami vivekananda stadium on August 9, DGP K. Nagraj made clear that TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee will hold rally on August 9 and Tripura police has clearly denied permission to Patala Kanya. He further said that action will be taken if any attempt is taken to break the law and order.
