AGARTALA, Aug 8 (TIWN): Keeping aside all tantrums, Tripura Sundari Express is scheduled to begin its regular service from August 8(Monday). Talking to TIWN correspondent, Transport Minister Manik Dey said that for the convenience of rail passengers, Railways will be introducing a new Weekly Express train No 14020/14019 to run between Anand Vihar Terminal and Agartala as per the scheduled programme. He further said that the regular run of 14020/14019 Anand vihar terminal-agartala- anand vihar terminal Tripura Sundari express train is scheduled to begin from 08.08.2016. The 14020 Anand Vihar Terminal - Agartala Tripura Sundari Weekly Express Train will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal at 11.55 p.m. o¬n every Monday from 08.08.2016 to reach Agartala at 11.45 p.m. the next to next day. In the return direction, the 14019 Agartala - Anand Vihar Terminal Tripura Sundari Weekly Express Train will depart from Agartala at 02.00 p.m. o­n every Thursday from 11.08.2016 to reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 12.50 p.m. the next to next day.

Consisting of, o­ne AC 2 Tier, three AC 3 Tier, five sleeper class, three General Class & two second class cum luggage van coaches, the 14020/14019 Anand Vihar Terminal-Agartala- Anand Vihar Terminal Tripura Sundri Express will stop at Kanpur, Allahabad, Mughal Sarai, Patliputra, Barauni, New Jalpaiguri,New  Bongaigaon, Guwahati, Jagi Road, Hojal, Lumding, New Halflong, Badarpur, Karimganj, Dharmanagar and Ambassa, stations enroute in both the directions.

Inaugural run of 14019 agartala -anand vihar terminal tripura sundari weekly express train was marked o­n 31.07.2016.

In its inaugural run ,the 14019 Agartala - Anand Vihar Terminal Tripura Sundari Weekly Express Train was departed from Agartala on 31.07.2016 at 12.30 p.m. to reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 12.50 p.m. on Wednesday.

This train crossed  through Ambassa, Dharmanagar, Karimganj, Badarpur,New Halflong , Lumding , Hojal , Jagi Road, Guwahati, New  Bongaigaon,New Jalpaiguri , Barauni , Patliputra , Mughal Sarai , Allahabad & Kanpur station en-route.

Citing a history in the land of Tripura, Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on July 31 inaugurated the first BG Express train connecting Agartala and New Delhi from Agartala railway station.

Amidst ritual and ceremony the first train was inaugurated from Agartala railway station by Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.

The inauguration ceremony was marked in presence of Bangladesh Railway Minister Moh.Mujibal Haq.  CM Manik Sarkar, Governor of Tripura Tathagata Rpy, BJP state president BIplab Deb and others remained present in the inauguration program.

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s effective look east policy Tripura got its first BG express train on Sunday. The moment was filled with Joy and ecstasy when the air was filled with the whistle of the BG Express train.

Adding another milestone in the history of Tripura, the land-locked state has finally made its entry in the BG railway map of the country.
