Holy cross college organised marathon on Sunday for the cancer patients

AGARTALA, Aug 7 (TIWN): Tripura Holy cross college on Sunday organized a marathon to raise fund for the people suffering from cancer in Tripura.

However, sports Minister Shahid Chowdhury on Sunday inaugurated the marathon from Swami Vivekananda stadium.

Talking to media father Emanuel of Holy cross college stated that this marathon is  organized as a dedication to the cancer patients.

The run was organized in collaboration with Tripura sports council and Tripura athletic association.

The run began in the morning 6pm from Swami Vivekananda stadium on August 7.

Holy Cross College, Agartala, has the distinction of being the first Catholic English Medium College in the state of Tripura, northeast India. It was founded in 2009 by the Congregation of Holy Cross and permanently affiliated to Tripura University (a Central University).

It began to function on July 6th 2009 with the starting of classes for BA and BCA, even though the official inauguration took place on August 10, 2009. Presently it offers undergraduate courses in B.Sc., B.A., B.B.A., B.Com and B.Ed. The medium of instruction is English.

The College presently functions in two campuses, Teacher Education program (B.Ed.) at Durjoynagar and all other courses at the new campus of the college at Jubatara, Lembucherra, Agartala.
