AGARTALA, Aug 3 (TIWN): The illegal Ganja production is spoiling the young generation of Tripura. In an everyday look it can be seen that young boys are day and night enjoying their intoxicated sub-conscious situation. They find all happiness in this intoxication.

This is increasing like cancers, spreading faster than AIDS in the society.  Due to the massive illegal Ganja production in Tripura the ganjas are available in every corners of the state. Young boys know in which shop these products are available. The cheap priced drugs available in the state’s markets, have created such situation.

Dharmannagr Botorshi area has become the zone for illegal drug selling and young boys are openly enjoying ganja, charas in cheaper price. Due to police’s negligence the condition is not at all developing. TIWN photographer has taken few pictures where young boys are sitting with Ganja packets and pouring Ganja inside cigarette. 

Talking to SP North he said, ‘Police is trying to control such illegal business  at its best level and time to time raids are also held in various places’.

However, the availability of cheap price drug in state has become a threat to the generation. Before few days it was disclosed how with the tags of branded company wines---- poisons are selling in Tripura which are made with Scorpio net and various other life-talking elements.

“Police, BSF are in high alert to control such crimes”, says SP. However, although attempts are said to be taken by police but surprisingly, the drug / ganja business is getting rampant in Tripura.

SP was mentioning about the Damchara incident where Damchara PS O/C Kiran Shankar Chowdhury alongwith 2nd O/C Harendra Debbarma nabbed 3 Mizos at Mujaffar Nagar area under North Tripura named : 1) Jaliana Reang, from Mizoram, 2) Bhanlal Bhoana, from Miromram 3) Nabinjoy Reang, from Tripura.

Apart from them many people are arrested with the initiave of BSF. On July 7,  1 kilo and 365 gram of Brown Sugar (worth 1.25 crores)  was recovered from Silchar-Agartala train at Panisagar by BSF 159th btln.  On July 8, four  culprits from Mizoram-Silchar were nabbed.  Another Rinku Nath (35) was booked by Police  recently.

Ganja, although illegal in India, but so much available in Tripura with much cheaper price, which is spoiling the generations and damaging the society from the grass-wood level. The main zone for Ganja is the Sonamura border. Tripura’s West border leaned subdivision Sonamura has remained under control of massive Ganja productors, resulting number of increasing smuggling and selling of intoxicated items in cheaper price across the state.

In North Tripura Ganja also coming from other Northeastern states, and some illegal production is very much rampant in few tribal areas.
