AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN): When the state is yet to recover from the massive crisis of petrol in the state, a total of 5000litre of petrol which was stored in discarded palace at phoolkumari petrol pump under Udaipur sub-division. In a raid conducted by police on Tuesday at Phulkumari petrol pump police seized a total of 5000 litre of petrol which was stored in a discarded place for black marketing. Adding to the sufferings of the people, long queue of people were found waiting with their motorcycles in front of the petrol pump in the vicinity of Agartala, giving rise to large scale black­ marketing of oil. Meanwhile; petrol crisis has hit the state capital and sub divisional headquarters. Motor cycle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas.Most of the motorcyclist had to wait for more than two hours in a queue to refill their vehicles.Outside in the black­ market petrol was available at Rs.150 to 200 per liter but that is also adulterated with kerosene. Most of the filling stations have put the board of no petrol but actually there is oil. Owners of vehicles are facing great difficulties in obtaining fuel as the NH is in pathetic condition to cater oil tankers in the state.

Vehicle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas. All the petrol pumps of Agartala have been witnessing a long queue for getting fuel since morning to late night even many of goes back with empty tanks. Hundreds of vehicles are regularly seen waiting in front of petrol filling station while many centres had hanged the board of No-Petrol. Outside in the black-marketpetrol is available at Rs. 300 to 350 per litre but that is also adulterated with kerosene, alleged common people.

However, despite of the cute crisis of petrol, government is reluctant to take any action

Extreme shortage of petrol and diesel in Tripura, due to poor road conditions, have hit the state even worse after torrential rains on Friday. People have come out on the streets and protesting against the shortage of basic commodities and hike in fuel prices. The damage on the Assam-Tripura national highway has led to Petrol being sold at Rs 300 for a litre and diesel at Rs 150 per litre. The bad condition of the roads, made worse by the rains, had also left the traffic disrupted. The repair work going on the highway has been stopped because of the rains. The already degenerating national highway which has been hit because of incessant rainfall is now filled with debris.
