AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN): Central Govt's war footing initiatives on Assam-Agartala NH-8(44) route in past 2-3 days able to carry out the renovation work without any disturbances. Talking to TIWN correspondent, Executive Engineer Silchar Division Malay Deb said that both the roads are limping back to normalcy and vehicles are entering the state regularly at frequent intervals. When asked about the status of the highway and the alternative highway, Deb said that renovation work is underway and will be repaired soon. Both NEC and NH8(44) are now giving pass to goods loaded vehicle to enter the state since past two days.Talking to TIWN correspondent, Executive Engineer Malay Deb said that “National Highway is limping back to normalcy”. He further said that the construction company is carrying out the renovation work in full swing to give passage to the vehicles as commodity crisis has miserably hit the state. Along with the renovation, vehicles are also given passage to reach to the state soil as it is now quintessential to cater goods from outside the state.Woes of the common people might come to an end with the progress in renovation work of the NH8-44 is underway.

Deb also said that if weather remains good the work will be maintained smoothly but if untimely rain hit the state the work may get delayed.

After massive doldrums with the NH8(44) finally the renovation is underway and it is expected that the work will be completed soon.

Lack of repairing of the NH8(44) road especially from Churaibari to Lowerpoa has left the road in poor condition.  The particular road has not undergone any permanent renovation till now and the initial repairing of the road has left the road in critical condition.

If the road is not repaired in the dry season the road will be left totally paralysed in the coming days, as a result the vehicles have to travel through such terrible route.

Alleged negligence of Assam government has paralysed the National Highway 8(44) from Lowerpoa of Assam’s Karimganj district up to Churaibari Assam gate is laying in a terrible state.

The reason behind such dilapidated condition of the road is due to the negligence of the central government and Assam government. Although the responsibility of the repairing work is given to an organisation by the Assam government but the work is progressing in slow pace triggering resentment among the people.
