AGARTALA, Aug 1 (TIWN): With the aim to rejuvenate its voice against the chit Fund scam,Tripura Pradeh Congress is scheduled to organised a mass rally on August 3 in front of Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan.

Addressing the press meet on Monday at congress Bhawan PCC Chief Birajit Sinha said that Congress would organise a mass protest rally against the chit fund scam in the state.

Asking Sinha about their demands, he said, “Congress demands arrest for the accused in Rose Valley Chit fund and other chit funds groups”.

Sinha further added, “All other states have arrested the accused in chit-fund scam, except Tripura. If Manik Sarkar was confident enough about his clean image then he would willingly run proper investigation against the chit-fund groups”.

Sinha also mentioned to arrest Minister Bijita Nath too and all other accused who were involved in this chit-fund group.

It’s worthy to mention here that along with the chit fund issue, Congress also raised other problems dominating the state.

Sinha said, Tripura Chief Minister is playing a silent role even after so many corruptions held under his party’s ruling.

However it is worthy to be mentioned here that the statement of Chief Minister and senior most minister of his cabinet former finance minister Badal Choudhury are contradictory, where Mr Sarkar claimed he did not know Rose Valley and other NBFCs would cheat the peoples’ money.

But Choudhury stated SEBI intimated the state government in 1999 about fraudulent activities of RoseValley and others. However, Tripura has witnessed the biggest ever chit fund scam in Rose-Valley incident, but how far Congress’s protest will be fruitful only time will say.
