AGARTALA, July 30 (TIWN): Long queues during Friday midnight night was observed at Dharmanagar subdivision just after 35 tankers entered in State. Following the mayhem at capital Agartala and mass protests held at various subdivisions on Friday. Panic stricken Govt led by Transport Minister Manik Dey, Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha & PWD Minister Badal Choudhury called urgent press meet as tremendous pressures were mounted by common people for failures by Manik Sarkar’s administration to maintain basic needs like fuel . During the press meet the Ministers lied that on Friday that 81 tankers are entering in Tripura, although less than half couldn’t arrive till Saturday early morning. Just after few tankers had reached North Tripura on Friday night, people stranded with their vehicles in long queues before BOC at Dharmnagar town. People gathered at Friday night and the unending queues swelled even-after the midnight till Saturday morning.

But with the initiative of SDM P Acharjee and DM Sandeep Mahatme, 15 petrol and 20 Diesel tankers could enter Tripura via Churaibari entry point.

After Friday’s press meet,  3 bootlicker Cabinet Ministers went to slumber not knowing(?) that only 35 tankers entered Tripura not what they promised to bring 81 tankers by Friday night.

The prolonged fuel crisis has disrupted public’s lives fully in Tripura as it’s killing a whole day to get just 1 litre of fuel.

In such a situation the agitated mass in Agartala blocked road at Durgabari area , for an uncertain time, which was not withdrawn even after Govt. officials continuous requests.

Reportedly, people stand before petrol pumps in 2-3 km long lines since mid-night. Few young boys takes liquors or alike such products to pass the night anyhow. This same happened on Friday night. But at morning when they acknowledged that petrol will not be given, they blocked the road and also announced until the problem is solved they are not going to withdraw it.

Opposition party  TMC  supporters hit Civil Secretariat and blocked Ministers’ vehicles. Then Police arrested all of them and controlled the situation but people went mad in frustation.

However immediately on Friday, the state cabinet was heated up getting shocks of mass agitation,  thenvia a press meet Govt. announced about 81 Tanker’s coming in state in Friday night itself.

But the road blockage in Agartala’s various places are still going on as no-petrol sign hanging across Statewide in all Petrol bunks.

The road-blockade is continuing since more than 24 hours at Agartala Durga Bari Road. The common people started the road blockade on Friday morning for an uncertain period of time.

2 times the situation got out of control and at evening IG Law and Order, police also tried to control the mass anger.  But the road blockade continued , which created unrest around the whole city.

Presently with huge number of TSRs have been deployed at Agartala as Ministers are worried of public beatings.
