KAMALPUR, July 24 (TIWN): After the political clash between TMC and CPI-M at Halhali during the chakka jam and the following clamor at Hospital, TMC leader Sudip Roy Barman visited Kamalpur last night along with Dipak Majumdar.

They came to the TMC Office at Office road and talked with the workers. There Sudip boosted the moral of the workers and assured them to be with during all the odds. Then he discussed the matter with the media persons.

Sudip condemned the attack and claimed “In the sub-division of Anjan Das, who showed his muscle power and unruly attitude inside the assembly and the CM had to come down on the well to calm him, is a very natural incident. They never believe in democracy. Moreover, as the TMC gaining people’s support each and every day, hence the ruling government gets scared.”

At the same time Sudip questioned the role of police asking “Whether police busy in safe-guarding the unruly cadres?” He took the role of the police under scanner as the same incident of attack happened on the Congress picketers during the picketing for Strike some months ago and that was even in front of the top cops.

Later, Sudip declared that, the party would take the matter to the top most officials of police and would also make it a political issue throughout the state.

It might be mentioned here that, during the pre-announced chakka jam program of TMC at Halhali, bloody battle took place between the TMC supporters and CPI-M cadres in front of the SDPO, OC and hundreds of security personnel.

Almost 20 persons from both the conflicting parties got injured and two each from both the parties had to refer to GBP Hospital. Later, the scuffle continued even inside the BSM Hospital, Kamalpur. Police virtually had to struggle to cope with the situation. In this context, Sudip Roy Barman visited Kamalpur last night.

Meanwhile, District Congress President and former MLA Manoj kanti Deb sternly criticized the attack and claimed it as a direct blow on the democracy. He further claimed that, this incident and the earlier attack on the Congress picketers revealed the true nature of the CPI-M.
