AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): As the Durga Puja is ahead, the Agartala city has geared up to welcome Goddess Durga. The city has been geared up for Durga puja which begins from September 30 this year-2016.

For Bengali people Durga puja is the greatest celebration in the whole year. People, especially women, children and girls eagerly wait for the 1st day of Durga Puja.

Already markets are stocked with new collection of dresses.

This year the Mahalaya is on September 30. However the Puja will be begin on 6th October (Panchami),  and will be end in 11th October(Dasami)

The Laxmi Puja was on 15th October, and the Kali-Puja will be held on 29th October.

However, already the Bengali associations are all set to ring in the festivities.

In most of the major clubs preparations have already started. Amidst rain the pandle preparation is on peak.
