1971 war shells found in Tripura

Agartala, May 6 (IANS) Two live mortars dating to the 1971 Bangladesh war have been recovered in Tripura, an official said Tuesday.
The mortars were found Monday at the Kamalasagar Lake here, where another shell was found on March 13.
"Labourers engaged in digging the lake found the shells. The mortars would be handed over to the Indian Army," a police spokesman said.
Kamalasagar, 20 km south of Agartala, was a base camp for the Bangladesh liberation war fighters in 1971. The place, now a tourist spot, had also witnessed a fierce battle between the Indian and Pakistani armies.
