AGARTALA, May 5 (TIWN): CPI(M) on Monday observed the 196th birth anniversary of Karl Marx here at Melar Math party office. Party leaders paid warm tributes to the revolutionary thinker.
Karl Marx was born in Trier, Germany, on May 5, 1818. He acquired higher education at Bonn and Berlin universities. He and Fredrick Engels wrote the Communist Manifesto that pointed out that the known history of mankind was a history of class struggle.
Speaking on the occasion, Bijan Dhar, state secretary of CPIM said there should be a broad-based alliance between the leftwing parties on the lines of the Movement for Restoration of Democracy (MRD).
Marx was both a scholar and a political activist , often called the father of communism. Sometimes,he argued that his analysis of capitalism revealed that capitalism was destined to end because of unsolvable problems within capitalism, added Dhar.
