AGARTALA, May 5 (TIWN): Three member delegation led by working President Asish Kumar Saha left for Delhi to meet Chief Election Commissioner V.S.Sampath to complain against Chief Electoral Officer Ashutosh Jindal and large scale rigging in both the Lok Sabha seats in Tripura.
Congress delegation would present all the video footages and documents before the Chief Election Commissioner in a meeting to be held in Nirbachan Sadan in Delhi on May 6. The team includes PCC working president – Asish Kumar Saha, Pradesh Youth Congress president – Sushanta Choudhury, Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson – Dr. Ashok Sinha along with All India Congress Committee legal cell head –KC Mittal.
Earlier, the opposition had sent a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner demanding removal of Ashutosh Jindal from the post of CEO owing to his failure to conduct free and fair election in the state. However, the EC did not pay heed on the demand made by the opposition party.
At the same time, the main opposition party opposed the bandh called by a little-know political outfit- Tripura Pragatishil Gramin Congress (TPGC) saying that it is not going to make any impact on the malpractice.
