AGARTALA, July 19 (TIWN): Across the country no flyover construction would have suffered the common people so much as Tripura’s first flyover. However, the blame can not be fully given to the flyover construction heads, and officials. The traffic jam there due to the pathetic road condition, narrow roads. The NH-44 from Battala is in pathetic shape and in this situation the flyover workers are managing with a little space.

Slow pace of construction and sluggish work by contractors have delayed the  fist flyover in the state, causing daily chaos in state. However, for VIPs there is a separate line via Bordowali via which all Ministers go through in Agartala.

The road has become muddy along with big size of bricks over the road. The road on both side of the flyover construction work has become highly risky and time consuming. In office hours just to pass from AD Nagar to Battala area it takes 1 hour time.

Monsoon has damaged the condition more now.  But during Badal Choudhury’s visit, it was announced that in 2017 November the flyover mostly to inaugurate.

During the visit PWD Minister had just pressured upon the quality, but there is no possibility to complete the work before 2017 November.

Whereas the flyover construction is creating regular traffic jams from Battala and turned the roadway beside Flyover into a bad shape, PWD Minister has shown a sudden concern about the issue.

However, the flyover construction is emerging various controversies. On April 22, just after few days of Kolkata flyover collapsed, Tripura's 1st flyover project had failed important load-testing causing all sandbags collapsed in front of hundreds of commuters for a long day.

Tripura's CPI-M Govt.  awarded Rs 300 crores  Agartala Flyover project to Hyderabad based Nagarjuna Construction Company (NCC) which was blacklisted by Pondicherry Govt in 2012 for indulging into massive irregularities which was unearthed by the Anti-Corruption Branch of CBI in Chennai.
