KAMALPUR, July 19 (TIWN): The plight of the Jamthum Primary Health Centre under this subdivision continued even after several pleadings and campaigns by the locales.
The assurances given by the authority remained un-attained till date. And the so-far public concerned leaders of the ruling party remained mysteriously numbed up in the issue.
Once the den of militancy, Jamthum, got populated by mainly by the Halam tribes. Then, the larger part of the population got constituted by the Tripuri tribe.
The maximum of the people remained to be the hard core supporter of the CPI-M. The hold of the CPI-M got strong enough to ensure victory in VC elections and Assembly polls.
Still, the people had to suffer for many basic facilities like drinking water and communication. After much struggle, they got a Primary Health Centre some three years ago.
But, from the very beginning, the centre remained in the centre of controversies. The quality of the service provided remained very poor. Moreover, the doctors and other staffs remained irregular.
The locales staged their agitation even up to the level of road-blockade and the authority gave them assurances. But, it became clear that, the assurances were for namesake.
The plight of the PHC regarding electricity and drinking water and the service remained a big question mark, in this leftist regime. And more pathetically, both the ruling party and the opposition remained numbed up in the issue.
