AGARTALA, July 19 (TIWN): Tripura Govt. says ‘No more dependency on NH-44 and seeks central govt.’s cooperation to manage the food crisis situation in Tripura. Addressing a press conference Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha told media on Monday that Tripura has food storage for next 40 days only.

Everyday state needs atleast 1000 metric ton food grains. In this situation due to the pathetic condition of NH-44 Tripura Govt. has asked for immediate launching of Freight train and the business of water-port via Bangladesh, so that food grains and other necessary things may reach state easily.

FCI is trying to bring 5000 metric ton food grain per day via Bangladesh. Moreover, attempt to bring fuel via B’desh is also there, said Finance Minister.

After iron sheet from Bangaldesh’s Ashuganj river port was  delivered to Tripura via Akhaura Checkpost ---the state Govt. of Tripura wants bring everything via that route, but it was Modi Govt. who brought Railway and the water way both in Tripura.

Still the state govt. of Tripura is blaming the central govt. for NH-44’s pathetic condition.

Indo-Bangla waterway business gets momentum with Rs. 3.5 crores iron steel importing. The Ashuganj river port which is about 32 Kms from Agartala by road. Due to Modi Govt.’s blessing,  Tripura government has sought permission from Bangladesh to carry 2000 MT iron bar via waterways in next phase. Kolkata based Rashmi Metallic's has been placed order to carry the iron bar via waterways of Bangladesh.

However, due to bad road condition of National Highway, the Tripura government wants to bring everything via Bangladesh now.

Earlier, Tripura has transported over dimensional machineries for Palatana power plant in South Tripura and 10,000 MT rice from Visakhapattanam of Andhra Pradesh via Ashuganj river port.UNI BB AD ADG PM1134---due to Modi’s blessing.

But Finance Minister has been ended by blaming Modi Govt. and BJP govt. at Assam for NH-44’s pathetic condition, whether across Tripura the roadway is also in same condition.

He also blamed NFR for slow rail-service progress, whereas Tripura Govt. never co-operated with NFR for railway work progression.

In this situation Finance Minister is trying to sustain its people with his false sympathies for Food crisis, whereas since decades every year state has been suffered due to the pathetic roadway of Assam-Tripura road.

Crores were sanctioned for NH-44, but under Tripura PWD era for NH-44------ the roadway just turned pathetic and more pathetic.
