KAMALPUR, July 17 (TIWN): The revealing of the double standard of the leftist leaders by TIWN regarding a building inauguration constructed on khas land made the MLAs and the Nagar Panchayat Chairperson to skip the inaugural session last evening.
And they later joined the program to enjoy the cultural fest. The delayed move of the portfolio holders saved the administration from utter shame and obstinacy to some extent. The new building of the leftist drama troop Sayak was inaugurated by the prominent dramatise personae Ratish Majumdar along with poet and writer cum playwright Shyamal Baidya.
The leftist saga and claim of making a ‘beautiful Kamalpur’ with all the khas land free from encroachment received a major jolt here due to the bold and law-violating smooth course by a leftist drama troop Sayak. Sayak remained in the cultural arena in the sub-division for years and promoting the cause and ideas of the leftists remained there prime objective.
As a result, they also got fair treatment from the party and the administration. And continuing this trend, the troop became able to build up their building adjacent to the Kamalpur Govt. Class XII School at Fulchari on the governmental khas land. However, the building of the Laxmi Narayan Club also got set there beside them years ago on the khas land.
Besides, the office of the TGTA also got set there on khas land. But, the building of the Sayak created a new twist as it constructed at a time when the Nagar Panchayat conducted evacuation drive against hundreds of businessmen to make the governmental khas land free.
And adding to the controversy, the MLA and CPI-M party Secretary Anjan Das, MLA Bijoy Lakshmi Sinha and Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Subrata Bhattacharjee were scheduled to be present in the inaugural session.
TIWN revealed that double standard of the ruling party. And at last, the portfolio holders skipped the inaugural session.
