AGARTALA, July 16 (TIWN): Despite of taking several initiatives by the Central to skill the people of the state in crafting Bamboo products, it seems like ruling Government is least bother to look over the issue of decline in the bamboo cultivation.
Rubber cultivation altogether is damaging Tripura’s natural environment along with the soil.
However, the Union Minister of state for Textiles (Independent charge) , Santosh Kumar Gangwar unveiled the inaugural Stone for Hostel of the Trainees of Bamboo and Cane Development Institute Lichubagan Agartala on April 9—where students are expected to be trained for upgrading of bamboo plants here in Tripura. But the bamboo plantation business here has become almost dying-era in Tripura.
So doubts remain will the youths earn their livelihood by these trainings?
However, it’s to be mentioned here that the bamboo plantation has become a by-gone era in state Tripura. In this regard govt.’s special focus is missing however.
Many faults are there, in this FY document provided to the media by Tripura Govt. recently---where Rubber was considered as Natural Resource, which is virtually incorrect. However, Govt. could write it as “Natural Reserved Resource”.
