KAMALPUR, July 15 (TIWN): Another incident of shameful crime against women occurred here at Kamalpur resulting from the complicated married life and a women member of CPI-M led the incident. And the second wife got beaten mercilessly and made to roam the village with garland of shoes.
The incident took place around 9-45 am this morning at Maracharra under Kamalpur sub-division. According to the incident, one woman Shikha Das got beaten with shoes and made her to roam the village with garland of shoes.
Her husband Samiran Das was also beaten and kept locked into the house of a CPI-M member Sumati Satnami (Das) of Halhuli panchayat at her residence. Shikha was beaten by her hubby’s first wife Saraswati Das, her son and relatives.
It got revealed that, almost 17 to 18 years ago Samiran eloped with house-wife Saraswati from Bangladesh and completed marriage after entering India. Then they had a son.
The first husband of Saraswati remained at Bangladesh. In the meanwhile, Samiran got into affair with Shikha. Almost 110 years ago, Shikha left her husband and eloped with Samiran. Accordingly, Samiran married her and kept her at different places in the sub-division.
Samiran used to go to Shikha and pass weeks together with her. Recently, the matter got disclosed to Saraswati. She informed all her relatives about it and planned to teach Samiran a lesson. Though Samiran remained unaware of all these. According to the plan of Saraswati, Samiran brought Shikha at Marachara 2 to 3 days ago.
Then this morning Saraswati implanted her plan along with her relatives, some locales and the member Sumati Satnami (Das). Now, Shikha was left in half dead condition beside the Kamalpur-Marachara road for hours.
When the local journalists reached the spot, they informed the police and made arrangement for Shikha’s shifting to BSM Hospital. Now, why the people got in the habit of taking laws in their hands and especially in the case of torture against women became a grave concern for the period.
