AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): Tripura has huge amount of unpaid tax payers, including Govt. high officials IAS,IPS officials, Ministers. But Tripura Govt.’s silence against non-tax payers forced the Central Govt. to send its Tax Commissioners to aware Tripura’s public to pay immediate Taxes within September 30. After Minister Bijita Nath, Minister Naresh Jamatia were called to Guwahati by the Tax Dept. for mismatching of properties and income-tax payment, DGP K Nagraj’s name was also brought under the scanner as this corrupt IPS officer already charge sheeted by CBI in March 29,2007 for amassing properties over 500 times disproportionately than his known sources of incomes. However, this time Modi Govt. turned the heat on Tripura Govt for revenue collection, also asked the public of Tripura from businessmen to High Govt. officials to disclose the properties within September 30th. Otherwise legal action will be taken against them, whoever it is.In a press meet on Thursday Rakhesh Kumar Goyal, Commissioner of Income Tax, West Bengal said, "This is the 3rd time, we are holding meeting here in Tripura to warn the public to pay income taxes".

“As since 1988 there are records of many unauthorized properties and so many undisclosed properties in Tripura, so the Prime Minister has given a last chance to its citizen including other states too to pay the income tax and disclose property within September 30”.

“Within September 30 whoever will disclose the property no legal action will be taken against them and the name of the tax payer will be fully remain as Confidential”. “The confidential matter has been promised by PM Narendra Modi in his Man Ki Baat”, said Goyal.

“Pay the tax before the time, otherwise when the time will be end it will act like a Time-Bomb. As BJP led Central Govt. do not want to harass the public, so the Govt. has launched the scheme”, Goyal added.

“If once the property is disclosed after 30th September, then people have to hire lawyers , go to the court and anyway then the harassment will have no end”, Goyal said.  “So pay the tax before survey, after survey we will go for legal action”, he said.

Northeastern Principal Commissioner L C Joshi, was also present and he said, “There are only 43,000 tax payers amongst 37 lakh people of Tripura”.

Criticizing the state Govt. indirectly, he said, “Tripura is lagging far behind in Tax-Paying in compare to the other states. “In 2012-13 FY Tripura’s income tax was 100 crores, in 2013-14  FY it was only 65 crores and in 2015-16 it was only 104 crores, which is not at all satisfactory”, he added.

“Whereas  the central Govt. is trying to upgrade Tripura with railway connectivity, port connectivity, so without proper tax payment how the Govt. will increase the Benefit?”, he said.

“Tripura,  has no industry that’s true, but paying proper taxes, it will increase the Agriculture production via Niti Ayog. In this way the Govt. can help the farmers by collecting the revenue fully”, he added. “90 % of the states money always comes back to state”, Joshi said.

Shyamal Dutta, Joint Commissioner of income tax for Agartala said that “After Govt. received millions of Complaints about undisclosed properties which was fully mismatched with the documents, they gave to the Tax dept. has forced us to take that action”. “Paying income tax is must from PM Narendra Modi to a clerk of a officer”, he said.

“So pay all the taxes within next 2and half months otherwise your property will be seized, you can send to jail”, he added.

Tripura's so called  'CLEAN' Chief Minister Manik Sarkar specially hired most corrupt IAS, IPS officers like GSG Ayyangar (Principal Secretary), DGP Nagraj to spread the corruption to grassroot level.

GSG Ayyangar was booted out of Hyderbad by AP Govt for involvement in 'streetlight timer scam' and CBI chargesheeted DGP Nagraj for amassing properties worth multiple crores.
