AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): ‘Central Govt. asked the non-tax payers to Disclose property before October 1st that is September 30’, Central Govt. Tax Commissioners said during a press meet in Agartala.
Giving notice to Tripura public for the 3rd time in a press meet Rakhesh Kumar Goyal, Commissioner of Income Tax, West Bengal said on Thursday that “This is the 3rd time, we are holding meeting here in Tripura to warn the public to pay income taxes”.
Northeastern Principal Commissioner L C Joshi, was also present and he said, “There are only 43,000 tax payers amongst 37 lakh people of Tripura”. “Among 43,000 people 40,000 people are individual whereas there are many business men and there are also many newly made Education Sectors who are doing business in collaboration with the state govt. but they are not paying the taxes properly", he said.
However, “Within September 30 whoever will disclose the property no legal action will be taken against them and the name of the tax payer will be fully remain as Confidential”. “The confidential matter has been promised by PM Narendra Modi in his Man Ki Baat”, said Goyal.
Shyamal Dutta, the Joint Commissioner of income tax for Agartala said that as the Central Govt. has received millions of Complaints about undisclosed properties which was fully mismatched with the documents, they gave to the Tax dept. has forced us to take that action”.
“Paying income tax is must for all”, he added.
