Citing a new era of development, Silchar-Kumarghat trial local train launched on Thursday

AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): Along with the passenger train which is running its wheels between the track of Agartala to Silchar, for the first time a local passenger trial train was launched on Thursday between Silchar and Kumarghat.It is to be mentioned here that train will run its wheels every day between Silchar and Kumarghat. However, the first local passenger trial train marked its journey from Silchar at 8.30 in the morning and will reach Dharmanagar at 1.45PM. From 1.47PM the train will again begin its journey for kumargaht and it will reach Kumarghat at 4.30pm.However, train will return to Silchar the same day.The distinct advantage of having a broad gauge rail destination at Agartala would be that it will not only serve as a railway junction for further expansion of network in the region but would, in the later stages, also help in supplementing the rail connection with neighbouring countries, particularly Bangladesh. In addition to improving the transport infrastructure in the region, this would also be an adjuvant to India’s “Act East” policy. Fulfilling the long demands of people BG passengers train service finally running smoothly over past few days in the landlocked state- Tripura which has recently made its place in the railway map of the world connecting with rest of India and now another local train has added much more development in the measure of transportation.

A pair of passenger train is continuously rolling its wheel between Silchar and Agartala.The long wait of northeastern state of Tripura to have direct broad-gauge rail connectivity with rest of India comes true after a long session of wait. 

However, now the wait for the express train begins.However, it is to be mentioned here that commencement of this Silchar Kumarghat train would come as beneficial for the people of Tripura and especially for the students.   

And above all it will lessen the dependency on NH44(8) which is left is poor condition and there is no assurance when it will be repaired.

Adding another milestone in the history of Tripura, the land-locked state has finally made its entry in the BG railway map of the country.

Recently, with the trial run of the train on the newly converted broad-gauge (BG) track of Agartala-Badarpur route upto Agartala railway station has created a milestone in the history of Tripura. This railway connectivity is the lifeline for millions in Tripura, western Manipur and Mizoram besides southern Assam, comprising four important districts.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi promises which he made that his government accorded high priority to turn India’s erstwhile “Look East” policy into an “Act East” policy is proved after the Land-locked state has marked dimensions of new development in the state to such extent.
