AGARTALA, July 13 (TIWN): Panna Ahmed has taken for a medical test on Wednesday after he was brought back to Agartala from Assam. But after 18 days of the incident how far his medical test will be fruitful it’s to be seen. Panna Ahmed is alleged of raping a married woman, who also a mother of 2 children. But just after the incident held on June 26 night, he escaped from the town, and Assam police arrested him from Karimganj on Thursday. However, after the test he will be produced before the court. FIR lodged against him in West Women Police Station. As part of the protest TMC, BJP, Congress had come in massive protest for his immediate arrest. Hence it was on July 13 that the accused was arrested. Allegations was also raising that police in full support of the rapist and now police was helping Ahmed to hide himself for long 18 days. He was also the former SDM of Sonamura subdivision where he ruled for years with his so many illegal activities including smuggling of drug via Indo-Bangla border.The raped-woman came to meet Panna Ahmed at his home in search of rent at Agartala Ramnagar. In that situation Panna Ahmed tortured her, beaten her, injured her and then raped her.

The women further told media that he gave her threat for taking her life and told her that like her he threw so many women into Dustbin, so she should not open her mouth”.

But Panna Ahmed is in full trouble as the matter has been disclosed and political parties now fuming against Amhed and demanding for major punishment.

IPC 506  which has been lodged against him is considered for Punishment for criminal intimidation.—Whoever commits, the offence of criminal intimidation shall be punished with imprison­ment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both. If threat be to cause death or grievous hurt, etc. IPC 376 (2) is also implemented which is meant for being a public servant, takes advantage of his official position and commits rape on a woman in his custody as such public servant or in the custody of a public servant subordinate to him. Also IPC 376 is there.
