AGARTALA July 12 (TIWN): Just within a few days of the brutal rape of women in moving bus at Belonia, Tripura again on Tuesdaywitnessed another shameful incident where a middle aged man molested a minor girl in a moving vehicle at Agartala.

Before people could recover from the shock of Nirbhaya’s rape case in Delhi, Tripura on Tuesday witnessed such brutality against a minor in the state.  In a bizarre incident, a minor girl was molested in a moving vehicle at Hapania.

The accused is identified as Joy Sarkar, who is basically a resident of South Ramnagar.

Reportedly, the incident took place on Tuesday when the minor victim and her mother were travelling to Agartala in a vehicle and Joy Sarkar was just sitting beside the victim.

However, the victim mother stated that the accused boarded the vehicle from Chowmuhani Bazar and by the time the vehicle reached Hapania the accused started molesting her daughter who is a minor.

However, getting alarm the victim mother protested and along with her the other passengers in the vehicle also protested and raised voice for his punishment.

Later the victim’s mother directly came to Agartala Women police station dragging the accused Joy Sarkar to the police station and also lodged complaint against him.

However, hearing the allegation of the victim family police lodged section 354 of IPC where Whoever assaults or uses criminal force to any woman, intending to outrage or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby outrage her modesty, shall be punished with impris­onment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both

It is to be mentioned here that state is hit with rampant crime cases. Among which murder, rape, domestic violence and other illicit crimes are on rise.

It seems like despite of several crime cases happening in the State, the Tripura police are yet in a yawning siesta.

Though the State Government has established several women police station in the State, yet the Tripura police allegedly fail to arrest the culprits and to take strict action.

Most the death of women happening in the state is due to domestic violence, illicit relationship, etc. If proper investigations are done then in maximum cases will reveal that women are burned or forced to suicide.

It is to be mentioned here that day by day reports of rape, domestic violence and kidnapping of girl and women are increasing.

Ministerial authority where claims that the crime against women are decreasing day by day, on the other hand, everyday reports of rape incident or kidnapping of any girl flashes on the news channels.

Although the State Government has established several women police station to curb down the harassment over the women in the state yet domestic violence is going high in the State.
