AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): Due to Eid ceremony to be celebrated from today evening the tension has been increased in Tripura’s border areas as the nieigboring country is already suffering from Muslim fundamentalists’ attacks.
High chances of violence in Tripura border areas and Muslim populated areas are there.
Already high alerts are on the Indo-Bangla border of Tripura, along with four other states : Assam, West Bengal, Meghalaya and Mizoram following the terrific attacks in Dhaka.
India and Bangladesh share a 4,096 km-long international border with 5 states. West Bengal (2,217 km), Tripura(856km), Meghalaya(443km), Assam(262km) and Mizoram(180km).
As there is Eid ceremony ahead, there will be a strict vigil on the border, ensured Tripura CM, BSF and Police. But after Friday’s attack in Bangladesh, they have further increased the vigil along the border, said sources.
