AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): Decades of CPI-M Govt’s deprivation fueled by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s apathy towards State Govt employees now erupted into volcano as pensioners revolted against the most unscrupulous CM in country who wanted his govt employees to remain in poverty in spite of 100% Central Govt fundings. Although central has advised states and released funds for latest pay commission recommendations but Tripura Govt. yet to launch pay-commission rather its draconian pay-review committee with the sole aim to deprive State Govt employees.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s residence on Sunday morning witnessed massive outpour of protests when EPF pensioners gheroued CM’s residence demanding implementation of leave encashment scheme in Tripura Road Transport Corporation, along with few other prolonged demands.

The demands of the pensioners are yet to be taken seriously by the state Govt. According to pensioners, whereas the whole country is abided by EPF laws, this is only for Tripura that the pensioners are getting harassed day after day. Due to the intentional cunning attitude of Manik Sarkar, State Govt employees & pensioners are  undergoing  terrible financial deprivation .

However, the agitating members of the Tripura State Government Undertaking EPF Pensioner’s Association demanded for the introduction of CCS Pension 1972 Scheme in Tripura Road Transport Corporation w.e.f 16-11-1995.

Pensioners also demanded to execute the long pending gratuity in favour of memorandum for the council of Minister vide memorandum no. F.1 (43) - GA (CAB) 2006 dates November 22, 2014.

Pensioner demands are going on since many years but getting no response the EPF pensioners on Sunday gheroued CM’s home in demand of their demands to be fulfilled.

However, Tripura government undertaking EPF pensioners association Chairman Samar Roy said that if their demands are not fulfilled they will move for massive protests in the coming days.

It’s worthy to mention here that instead of various deprivations in state, TripuraChief Minister claims high achievements during his speeches in state.

Apart from EPF Pensioners, in Manik Sarkar’s era there are people who are provided with only Rs. 750/- per month instead of central guidlines. 

Although unbelievable, but it’s true that in Tripura still there are people, who are getting paid only Rs. 750/- as their pension, and demanding to increase their pension atleast to Rs. 3,000/-

Many home guards who are paid not even Rs. 1,000/- per month are left to die in poverty.

Many times pensioners raise voice but the state Govt. is least bothered about the economic-condition of the retired employment.

Although the state govt. has increased  mere 5 % DA for the employees, but the gap with the central is about 40 % so State Govt employees remain poorer.

Due to Manik Sarkar’s wrong policies and false propaganda, Tripura is reeling under massive problems of Unemployment, Poor-Pay scale, commodity crisis and price hike, increasing frustration in the state.
