KAMALPUR, July 1 (TIWN): Administrative decision brought about pathos for a woman and made her homeless. And BJP stood by the victim woman to go to the root of the case. At the same time the role of the administration also remained perfect as the entire course was conducted abiding the law.

The incident happened yesterday at Durgachowmuhani area under this subdivision. The sub-divisional administration conducted evacuation drive at the Durgachowmuhani area against one Arati Das who was alleged to illegally possess a part of land owned to her father.

The matter was dealt by the Court and ultimately the father late Jatindra Namasudra got the possession. As Jatindra was no more hence his second wife demanded the possession. But Arati declined to leave her possession as she helped Jatindra with 30, 000 rupees in 2005 during the marriage of Arati’s step-sister. Jatindra promised her to give one kani of land which he later refused.

Moreover, Arati produced a Khatian numbered 591 which showed that she had purchased the land from one Shmabhu Roy Pathar in 1978 and 1979. However, in the Court the land was declared in favour of late Jatindra. Then as Arati not left the land, then SDM conducted evacuation drive and made Arati to leave the land.

Today, in the Press Club Arati demanded the land to be her according to the khatian. The BJP leadership, however, made it clear that the administration conducted an inhumane step making the woman homeless. In this connection, a group of BJP leaders went to meet the SDM. However, being busy outside, the SDM could not meet them.
