AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): It is almost six months or more since Biplab Deb has assumed the chair of Tripura BJP's President but failed so far to capitalize anti-CPM wave and positioning himself as the main opposition leader of State. Unfortunately, political immaturity keeping Biplab Deb much behind in race compared to TMC’s Sudip Roy Barman as State population still view Sudip as their firebrand voice against CPM’s massive exploitation. When Biplab Deb’s name was in the air for this BJP President’s seat after Modi became the Prime Minister, common people of Tripura all on a sudden started to believe that Biplab Deb would target Manik Sarkar Govt’s corruption.

Tripura is reeling under various corruptions and irregularities, especially in the implementation of different centrally sponsored schemes.  Surprisingly, important issues related to the common people are being thoroughly neglected by state BJP and its President.

People thought that Biplab Deb might be someone who would address their sufferings and rescue them from the injustice and exploitation that was imposed during the CPI-M's undisputed rule.

But after six months the faith of the people of Tripura seems to have got a big blow as Biplab Deb and his party is likely to have inherited the ' Press Conference ' politics from the earlier opposition parties in Tripura.

Biplab Deb came to the throne of his party at a time when there is a clear positive wave across the country in favour of BJP , especially in the North Eastern region , due to Act East Policy of PM Modi and his dynamic gov't.

Quite mysteriously instead of getting himself busy on issues related to general  public State BJP President seems to be busy in presenting himself as a Bollywood hero turning into politics.

Everyday his pictures are seen on TV, paper or other electronic media with different and colourful outfits . This type of luxury is not a tradition of Tripura politics. In Tripura people are familiar with leaders leading a simple life wearing a very low cost but decent  outfits. But in case of Biplab Deb , its very different as he always prefers to wear exclusively designed kurtas and that too of different colours- blue, while , purple, orange and so on.

List of different scams unearthed in Tripura since 2014:-

1) Looting of Rs 50 crore from MGNREGA fund in which Comrade BDO Bimal Chakraborty, who is the brother of DYFI state Secretary cum CPI-M state committee member Amal Chakraborty, is the prime accused

2) Rs 40 crore scam on NRHM in Kailashahar

3) Rs 90 crore scam in NH44 construction ( alleged that the construction agreement was given to BRO in Rs 90 crore but it can be completed in Rs 10 crore. Obviously the lions share of this money went to the party in power)

4) Rs 20 crore scam in Rupaichhari R D Block

5) Rs 25 crore scam in Teliamura R D Department

6) Rs 35 crore scam in Kailashahar Horticulture Department

7) Rs 15 crore scam in Agri Superintendent Office at Mohanpur( regarding the buying & distribution of potato seeds).Bijoy Roy, Store Keeper has been suspended

8) Rs 3 crore scam in Bamboo Project( jungle cutting) in Kadamtala

9) Rs 5 crore scam involved in the construction of Kadamtala Hospital

10) Rs 2 crore scam in Tripura Apex Fishery( purchasing of dry fish, limestone, fish food)

11) Rs 2 crore scam in purchase of watermelons plants

12) Rs 1. crore looting in Melaghar R D Block's Golden Jubilee Celebration

 13) Rs 1.82crore scam in Melaghar R D Block( Assement Year 2011-12)

14) 1.27 crore scam in Udaipur Municipal Council

15) Rs 5 crore RMSA scam

Again under the trap of chit funds thousands of people lost their hard earned money. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and his cabinet colleague Bijita Nath were publically campaigning for the chit funds like Rose Valley and as a result of which thousands of innocent people were duped by these money looting groups.

More than one and half year before Assam Assembly poll BJP leaders like Sarbananda Sonowal and Himant Biswa Sharma emerged themselves as a sharp criticisers of Tarun Gogoi and Congress gov't on various corruption issues.

The result is clear to all - for the first time BJP made its entry as a ruling party in Assam. Similar situation might have  arisen in Tripura by now .

But till date Biplab Deb didn't utter a single word against Manik Sarkar and his govt's corruption. Quite surprisingly Biplab is seen to address CM Manik as ' Adorniyo Manikda' without blaming the CM for being mute over corruption.

Reacting to this type of negative politics a top level BJP leader( on condition of anonymity ) told this correspondent over phone ," Actually the style adopted by Biplab Deb is quite contradictory to what RSS ideology promotes . Being a whole timer of RSS for many years Biplab Deb must have learnt that RSS means related to soil and with common pass. But he is almost like a Bollywood star. Indeed, even within the party Biplab has presented himself as a 'Baharibabu ' . "

The leader also alleged,"Often the Karyakartas and even the leaders find it difficult to reach Biplab Deb if they face any problem. It is because Biplab Deb's phone is received by his 'so-called Secretary' and only a few occasions the Karyakartas get call back from the President. It is really very insulting for the common karyakartas when even the Ministers in Manik Sarkar's cabinet themselves or even TMC’s Sudip Barman receives phone calls on their mobiles. "

During the last six months Biplab Deb has not uttered a single word demanding CBI probe in the Centrally sponsored schemes' scams .

CPI-M leaders in West Bengal raised their voice against Rose Valley and Saradha to attack Mamata Banerjee led TMC govt  but in Tripura the opposition parties like BJP are simply mute spectators .

Even BJP leaders like PM Modi criticised Mamata Banerjee strongly in the build up to Assembly polls on Narada, Saradha , Rose Valley issues. Biplab Deb and his team is not willing to go with same direction in Tripura on Manik Sarkar.

Certainly questions arise among the masses about the motives of State BJP’s new President :-

1) Whom do  State BJP President trying to impress wearing gorgeous looking dress instead of simple lifestyle ?

2) Why state BJP silent over different multi-crore scams on centrally sponsored schemes like MGNREGA, NHM, RMSA ?

3) Why is state BJP and it's President mute over CBI probe on Manik Sarkar Govt  ?

4) Will state BJP succeed with this type of lameduck politics in 2018 Assembly Polls ?

5) Why doesn't state BJP go for all out attack against Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and CPI-M Govt?
