TNGCL targets to connect more 8000 households with PNG connection by the end of 2016, Tripura so far connected to more than 25,000 PNG connection

AGARTALA, June 27 (TIWN): With the initiative of TNGCL (Tripura Natural Gas Company limited), more 8,000 houses will be supplied with PNG (Piped Line natural Gas) connection in this financial year, said TNGCL Marketing Dy. Manager Joyjeet Choudhury.

Talking to TIWN correspondent, TNGCL Marketing Dy. Manager Joyjeet Chowdhury  said that already above 25,000 households are connected with PNG connection and this year more 8000 connections are targeted.

He further said that the work for the connecting the 25,000 households are completed and the work for the rest of the connections are underway.

Tripura capital city Agartala would soon turn into a green metropolitan. All together 8,000 households would be provided piped cooking gas connections by the end of this year. TNGCL has taken this initiative with the aim to make Agartala a green city, first of its kind in eastern India. By next financial year, further 8,000 households in Agartala would be covered by piped natural gas (PNG) connections for cooking purposes. With the supply of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to homes in Agartala, it has become easier to supply gas to the household.

Already more than 25,000 households are connected with PNG.

TNGCL Marketing Dy. Manager Joyjeet Chowdhury  also said that apart from this TNGCL has also provided about 400 commercial connections to the business centres. Along with the household and commercial connection TNGCL has also provided about 50 PNG connections in several factories in Bodhjungnagar industrial sector area.

According to the TNGCL source, a large number of industrial units, hotels and crematoria were already running on PNG. Focusing on the increasing number of CNG fueled vehicles, the TNGCL has already set up a mother CNG refilling station at Udaipur and in this regard TNGCL to set up 4 daughter boosters at Amarpur, Shantibazar, Belonia, and Sonamura.

TNGCL was registered under the company Act, 1956 with ROC, Shillong as Limited Company. Incorporation of the company with a joint venture of TIDC Ltd. [A Govt. of Tripura undertaking] & AGCL [A Govt. of Assam undertaking] on July 1990.

Re-structuring of TNGCL on February 2005, with joining of GAIL as a major share holder in order to facilitate the implementation of CNG in the transport sector of Tripura.

The Main Objective of TNGCL is to Establish natural gas as a eco-friendly, economical and safe alternative fuel, Reduce & control rising pollution due to vehicular emission, Provide safe, healthy & less polluting environment.

The main activity of TNGCL is to Supply piped natural gas to the domestic, commercial & industrial consumers in and around Agartala.
