AGARTALA, June 22 (TIWN): A large number of paramilitary troops and police have been deployed to maintain peace on the hill regions, NH-44 and railway lines.
The 24 hours strike called a newly emerged violent political group named IPFT to disrupt railways, NH-44.
However, tight security has been deployed to Jirania area and Baramura areas.
However, police has confirmed about the maintenance of peace across the state. Sadhupara, under Chandra Sadhan Police Station, has reportedly kept under special observation
IPFT had declared to block roads, railways from Wednesday morning to Thursday morning. The road blockades held at Jirania and Baramura areas mostly.
However, till now no unwanted incident’s report is there.Security also tightened up at ADC area and other hilly areas.
In the year 2014-15, Stirred by the Central government’s decision to create a new state of Telangana out of Andhra Pradesh, a large number tribals under the banner of a little known tribal based party in Tripura came out with demands of a separate state by upgrading the existing Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TAADC).
However, their demands are not new. But the IPFT, which first raised the demand for a separate state several years ago, however, has so far failed to garner support even from within the indigenous tribal people.
