AGARTALA, June 21 (TIWN): To ensure the peace on June 21 called by IPFT, Tripura police held meeting with IPFT leaders.
Talking to Abhijit Saptarshi, SP West he said that for the sake of peace maintenance police has asked the IPFT chief leaders not to create any violence during the strike.
It’s t be mentioned here that although CPI-M has protested about the strike on June 17 called by IPFT, but IPFT is determined to hold strike on June 22.
Opposing the idea of strike called by IPFT, CPI-M state secretary via a press meet expressed CPI-M’s strong objection about IPFT’s strike on June 22 in demand of Twipra land. CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar said that CPI-M never will support IPFT’s demand for a separate land, but the opposition parties are playing a diplomatic role in this issue.
IPFT took a break from their demand of Twipra land, but once again they have come up with their earlier demand for a separate land along with some more demands. IPFT to stop railway and national highway for 24 hours in demand of Twipra land.
To enlarge the protest for Twipra land, IPFT will halt railway service and block National Highway on June 22.
However, SP West has said that security has been tighten to maintain the peace on the occasion of 24 hours strike called by IPFT.
