KAMALPUR, June 16 (TIWN): The so-called people-friendly administration of the so-called ‘golden’ regime turned into a dreadful and painful experience for the commoners at different parts of the state.
And the work-culture of different offices deteriorated to such an extent that, commoners had to roam in the offices for more than a year for availing facilities. In this saga of suffering, the office of the SDC (Food) turned to be a glaring instance of public sufferings here at Kamalpur.
According to the allegation of the commoners, no work in this office could be done smoothly and timely. Each work in this office not only took time but also caused harassment to the commoners. The commoners from the different parts of the sub-division used to come in the office for different works like availing of subsidy, deletion and inclusion of names in the family ration cards etc. But no work got completed here without a lot of time-killing and sufferings.
A retired Headmaster from Avanga area under this sub-division namely Naresh Chandra Deb used to come to the office for last one year for the entry of subsidy in the bank pass book numbered 0583010102319. The ration card and the pass book got enlisted in the name of his wife Aarati Deb.
After one year’s efforts, the officials claimed that, the subsidy amount got transferred into the bank account. But, the consumer not even got the amount in his account.
In the same way, commoners used to be harassed for the simple jobs. And the situation worsened as none of the officers used to enter the office in due time. Almost every day, the officers used to come and go in the office at their will. And the increasing public sufferings seemed to be a distant thing to be remedied.
