TMC will form government in 2018 Assembly election in Tripura, CM Manik Sarkar has not done anything for the development of Tripura and its people: TMC leader Mukul Roy held press meet

AGARTALA, June 3 (TIWN): Coming on a one day visit in the state, TMC Leader Mukul Roy claimed that TMC will form government in the next 2018 Assembly election.

Addressing the press meet in state guest house TMC leader Mukul Roy said that TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee is extremely serious regarding Tripura and will do all efforts to win over the hearts of people of Tripura.

He also said that Tripura will see a change in the 2018 Assembly election with the hand of TMC. CM Manik Sarkar under his years of rule has not done anything for the development of the people and state, added Roy.

Today Tripura is lagging behind in every sphere due to poor governance of CM Manik Sarkar . Tripura can see development in true sense only through TMC, added Roy.

After her landslide victory in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee is working steadily to expand her party’s influence in the North East, with Tripura the prime target — the Bengali population forms the largest ethno-linguistic group in the state with about 67 percent of the population. Immediately after her swearing-in, Banerjee met a delegation of rebel Congress leaders from Tripura, led by Sudip Roy Barman who resigned from the Congress Legislative Party in Triprua after the electoral tie-up with the Left Front was announced. Since then many Congress workers have followed suit.

While the BJP is looking towards Manipur after successfully pulling of a victory in Assam, Banerjee hopes that with a win in Tripura she will also be able to expand her party's base in the region.

The much talked CPI-M and congress alliance has now drowned both the parties making a way for the BJP and trinamool to make their grounds in the left ruled state. To fight against Mamata in west Bengal, the CPI (M), in an effort to form a secular and democratic alliance against the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Apart this alliance was a question to the society as there can’t be alliance where there is no similarity. Both CPI-M and congress has different ideology and strategy.

On the other hand it appears that Congress appeared to be losing grip of its role as opposition from Tripura where BJP is making inroads even as the Left firmed its hold in Tripura winning majority of the seats in both of the recently concluded election municipal as well as village committee election.
